Traveling with MS or another health challenge

As a travel writer, I sometimes get asked about traveling with a disability. Sometimes the question comes up about traveling with MS. I have several friends, clients and colleagues with the health challenge. No one wants to be told that they have Multiple Sclerosis or any other illness.

Being diagnosed with a chronic disease makes you rethink every aspect of your life. Sometimes, it makes you want to do things or visit places that you've been putting off. If you have MS and are planning to travel it's important  to get the MS treatment that's right for you. Your health care provider should be your best source of information and can advise you on what to expect.

One way to manage symptoms when traveling (or any time) can be to use a Multiple Sclerosis Diet. Don't give up if this is you. It's still possible to travel when on an MS diet or any other.

The secrets to traveling with any health challenge are to research your trip and plan ahead. Think about where you are going. Consider your limitations. Plan for extra travel time, meals and medication schedules.
With these in mind there's no reason why you can't enjoy a great vacation.
