Reminder: Comcast Christmas in Chilhowee Park Dec. 10, 2010

One of our blog readers asked us to post a reminder about the Comcast Christmas in Chilhowee Park. This is one of the most fun and family friendly events that you can find in Knoxville.

Visitors who attend the event will be able to drive around the pond and take in the beautiful Christmas lights. As the twinkling reflects and dances on the water you will feel as though you have been transported to a holiday wonderland.

If you want to drive around the pond later in the season you can do that. Chilhowee Park is open until Jan. 2, 2011 so you can do just that. This previous blog post has a panoramic photograph of the lights on the park. The photo is lovely but can't touch the way the lights look in person.

Lights aren't the only thing that you can do at the holiday celebration. The Comcast Christmas in Chilhowee Park event is an annual celebration. There are carolers, free horse drawn carriage rides, free marshmallow roasting, free egg nog and snow cream and lots more.

This previous blog post has details and a link to helpful directions. If  you aren't familiar with the area the link can help you find your way.

Chilhowee Park is situated right next to the Knoxville Zoo. Some of the visitors to the Christmas lights may want to tour the zoo, stay until its dark and then tour the lights. Even though winter has set in there are still animals on display.

Knoxville is fortunate to have such a great zoo. It's not free but there's never a bad time to visit. We have a You've Been Reviewed blog post on visiting. Visitors who have an entire day to spend with family will enjoy adding it onto your self-guided tour of the lights or visit to the Christmas light celebration.
