The annual Doughnut Day means free Krispy Kreme doughnuts. No purchased is required. Just walk up to the counter on Friday; June 1 2012, pick out your favorite treat and enjoy. That's all there is to it. The offer is good for one per customer, per visit and supplies may be limited.
Although I haven't found a location that didn't participate the company website does say "participating locations only". Calling ahead to your favorite location may be advisable. Krispy Kreme offers the free goodies every year. It's a fun way to put a smile on your face but it started with a serious reason.
The first Doughnut Day happened 75 years ago. It was a way to commemorate the work done by the "Doughnut Lassies" of the Salvation Army. The event stuck and is still celebrated today. Don't forget to go get yours before time runs out.
