Here are a few photos from our recent trip to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I don't know that I have ever seen more deer than on this trip. When it comes to relaxing and recharging your batteries, nothing beats a trip to the mountains. The loop in Cades Cove is among my favorite places.
We stopped at the picnic area to enjoy our lunch from Zoe's Kitchen. It was the perfect place to be before driving the loop. I would normally try to stick my toes in the stream that runs along the edge of the picnic area. This time, it was late afternoon so the stream would have to wait until next time.
Traffic along the Cades Cove loop was mild. Cars still stop in the road to take pictures so you have to watch out for them. Fortunately, we visited on a weekday afternoon so the crowd was relatively light. Traffic is always heavier on the weekends.
However; as demonstrated by these photos, there is never a bad time to visit Cades Cove. Scenery and abundant wildlife make it a top stop when it comes to relaxing or getting away from it all.
