Norris Dam State Park is a great place to go for some R&R. There is so much to see and do here. It's no wonder that it is one of the busiest of Tennessee State Parks.
It's only about 45 minutes outside of Knoxville. Norris Dam State Park is the home of the Lenoir Museum. Here you can learn about Appalachian life around the time that the dam was built. Then, there are those great picnic sites, trails, wildlife viewing and bird watching.
Of course, then there is the great Norris Dam itself. Let's not forget the visitor center and viewing area.
