Don't trade it. Donate your car instead.

On my down time, traveling is one of my passions. To me, there’s nothing better than loading the car for the next road trip. Exploring the countryside is fun but adds miles to the car. My jaunt to Alaska with my daughter last summer put an extra year worth of mileage on the car. Even with the extra miles I’d go again in a heartbeat!

Many travelers who go the extra distance wind up trading cars often. It’s not uncommon for a customer to take whatever offer the dealership makes for their car. That’s not necessarily the best option. It can be that donating your car will net you more in the long run.

Why? You’ll need to check with your tax professional. You may choose to donate your car to a charity for a tax write-off. Sometimes this can give you more value than trading it in.

Finding a worthwhile charity in your area is as easy as searching the internet. Car donations Illinois can be given to the Vietnam Veterans Car Donation Program. No one gives more to our country than the U.S. Servicemen and women who work daily to keep us safe.

With the Vietnam Veterans Car Donations Program donating your car is easy. You’ll get a tax donation receipt as soon as they receive your car. All you have to do is call them. They’ll come pick it up at a day that’s convenient for you.

When you donate a car in Illinois or elsewhere be sure it’s in good working order and relatively clean. You don’t have to go to this extra effort but if you can it will be appreciated.

Check out your options for donating your car. The best value you receive may be in helping a veteran or other charity. Not only do you save money but you get the great feeling that comes from helping someone.
