Whistler, Vancouver; Olympic class skiing at its best

When you stand on the slopes of Whistler in Vancouver your heart beats a little quicker. Focus your mind to prepare yourself, take a deep breath and go! You are skiing at the site of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Whistler is tucked away in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Canada where the powder is plentiful and always fresh. Whistler Ski Resort is not 'just' the Gold Standard in skiing, it is an Olympic standard ski resort.

The Canadians that we met on our route to and from Alaska were always welcoming. Friendly atmosphere is a big part of what makes Whistler ski holidays memorable. World class shopping and world class skiing go hand-in-hand. When you come off the slopes you want to relax and unwind. Whistler has the shops, restaurants and friendly service to help you do just that.

Whistler receives an average snowfall of 33.5 feet. Moderate temperatures make for perfect skiing conditions. Most of the winter months have an average temperature of 22°F.

As you can imagine, the peak season fills quickly. Room reservations are always recommended. When booking your Whistler ski accommodation, don't forget to ask about discount whistler lift tickets.

Purchasing lift tickets in advance makes the holiday more affordable. Having the tickets in advance eliminates the need to stand in line to purchase them. It may even get you to the slopes a few minutes faster.

The mountains are stunningly beautiful and Whistler is right in the middle of the splendor. When my family visited the Coast Mountains we left a part of ourselves behind. Don't be surprised if this happens to you.
