Steven Curtis Chapman at National Moofest

Looking for festival fun this weekend? The National Moofest is in Athens, Tennessee and it sounds like it's going to be a blast. Of the fun evpents that are lined up, the most popular may be the Steven Curtis Chapman concert at Tennessee Wesleyan College.

To get to the National Moofest festival, you can either park at First Baptist Church or in the lot near Mayfield Dairy. Both of the parking areas have a free shuttle to the festival. Hubby and I drove down last night to scope it out. The parking signage seemed to be pretty good from downtown and around the dairy.

Admission to National Moofest is only $3.00 and the event is from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Steven Curtis Chapman concert is at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available all day from the Chamber of Commerce. They start at $10 and go up to a very reasonable $25.

I'm also pumped about the Kids Chill Zone. Parents who need to get their youngsters out of the heat can do so at the Chamber of Commerce. It's an indoors air-conditioned place to cool off.

Fun seems to be guaranteed. The printed schedule calls for a mooing contest at 12:00 p.m.  ice cream eating contest at 4:00 pm and other hourly events. They have almost 100 vendors lined up, a stage for music and all day kids entertainment. All the events are on the website for National Moofest.

What caught my eye is the frozen t-shirt contest. I saw for the first time at Relay for Life. The t-shirts have been wet and frozen. Kids were beating them, pulling them and doing everything they could to make them wearable. It was too funny!

I'm be there for a little while today. Check back for a mobile blog post during Moofest.
