Some of the lights at Patriot Park in Sevierville, TN

Have you seen the lights at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge yet? They aren't new but I'm always surprised at the number of people who have never seen or heard about them.

Pigeon Forge is of course, located in the beautiful East Tennessee mountains. It's nestled between Sevierville and Gatlinburg. Dollywood, shopping and scenery are among the many attributes that put this town on the map.

One of the favored winter activities is the annual Winterfest celebration. These lights are only a small part of the professional light displays that you will find here.

Winterfest lasts from late fall and runs through the month of February. Gatlinburg, Sevierville and Pigeon Forge all celebrate with impressive displays of lights.

This particular light display pays homage to the men and women who serve in the military. You can visit Patriot Park by parking in the lot at the Pigeon Forge trolley depot. Once there, you can get out and photograph to your heart's content.

Then, when you are ready to explore more of the area it's easy to hop on one of the trolleys. You won't have to fight traffic or find a place to park. The fares are extremely reasonable.

Families will find lots to see and do in Sevierville, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. There is Dollywood, lots of outlet malls and plenty of other attractions. We're planning another trip in January. Look for more to be posted then.
