Free State Street Garage and Knoxville garages greet visitors

The State Street garage and other Knoxville garages, welcome visitors to the downtown area. Whether you are coming to Market Square Mall, Boomsday or Christmas in the City, visitors have plenty of parking options.

If you are coming to downtown area events, then you will want to know about the free parking garages downtown. Free spots help you save cash that you can spend e.at any of the merchants in downtown Knoxville. Here's a rundown of some of the parking options in Knoxville.

Looking for a free downtown garage? Look no further than the garages of State Street and Locust Street and Market Square area. Park for free after 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and all day on the weekends at either garage. The only exception is for large events when a parking fee may be charged.

Otherwise, visitors (and locals) can park for free during the above times at city-owned garages and parking meters. Interestingly enough, game days for the Tennessee Volunteers are free at Market Street and State Street Garages. This press release has details on where to park for game days .

Another downtown garage that offers parking is the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum. Parking ranges from $5 per day for automobiles to $50 per day for RVs (with hook-ups). This is across the street from the Knoxville Transit Center. A special arrangement with Megabus allows customers to park in the garage. A fee applies.
