When looking for budget travel accommodations state parks are at the top of my list. They are inexpensive and clean. In addition to campgrounds and spots for RVs or campers many state parks have cabins available for rent.
Zoos, parks and aquariums often reciprocate with each other. This means that a membership at one zoo or aquarium may be good at another. We joined our local zoo one year just to save on entrance fees at other zoos. This turned out to be one of the best vacations my family ever had.
AAA memberships can save you money on motels. Did you know that a Sam's Wholesale Club membership can help you save too? So can being a teacher or other state or government employee. Showing your ARRP card can mean the difference between budget travel and high cost.
And dont forget staycations. This is where you stay home and enjoy the local activities that your town offers. A staycation is often the most inexpensive form of budget travel that there is.
