Edmonton, Alberta a fun place to live or play

Driving to Alaska with my daughter was one trip that I will never forget. We drove from East Tennessee, across North Dakota and into Canada. We came back by a different route. I think the only city that we passed through twice was Edmonton, Alberta.

As we drove through I could imagine myself looking for a house to rent Edmonton is an interesting town to visit. It is the capitol city of Alberta and is the home of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and many other cultural attractions. The arts district is in the downtown area not far from Chinatown. This area has lots of art galleries and shops.

Over a million people live in Edmonton. The city seems to be teeming with life and with jobs. It looks like a city where it would be good to live or work.

Another one of the things that I liked about Edmonton is how close it is to the Canadian Rockies. I think we got to the mountains fairly quickly. They are absolutely spectacular. Being close to Edmonton puts them in reach for a day trip or weekend getaway.

Each city has its pros and cons. From what we could tell it seems to be a good place to raise a family. We were told that the schools here provide a world class education. There seemed to be plenty of parks and green spaces. Most of the people we met seemed friendly.

If you ever wanted to live in a city where hiking and fishing were close to cultural attractions this has to be the place. If you are traveling to Alaska you may fall in love with Edmonton, Alberta too.
