Apple Cake Tea Room in Knoxville is ladies lunch spot

Have you heard about the Apple Cake Tea Room in Farragut yet? My daughter and I were finally able to get there for lunch yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Apple Cake Tea Room is on Campbell Station Road in Farragut in the Appalachian Log Square. It's about a block off of Kingston Pike and has pretty easy in and out access to Campbell Station Road.

Hostess Stand
The hostess and cashier stand is in front of the door as you walk in.  The tea room is decorated in everything apple. Our wait for a table was about 10 minutes so we had time to take in the décor and enjoy the surroundings. The cushions on the chairs by the front door have cute pillows with apple decorations. They have taken pains to decorate this area and the rest of the tea room with family unique treasures and family heirlooms.

Families and guys

The Apple Cake Tea  Room in West Knoxville is a good place for ladies to meet for lunch. Meat-and-potato guys won't find much to like about the place. I can just about guarantee that the lace curtains and feminine decor will make Hubby break out in hives. The tables have just the right amount of space between them.

Families may have a tough time squeezing a high chair into the dining room that we were in. However, the Apple Cake Tea Room does offer hot dogs and PB&J on the kids menu.

Main seating area
The main seating area has a large quilt on the wall and fireplace. Straight back wood chairs push up to wood tables. The Apple Cake Tea Room has a friendly B&B feel that makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in the door.

Menu
Food choices include traditional tea lunch items at prices that also make you feel at home. East Tennessee Dining has an online menu for the Apple Cake Tea Room. Prices can change, but when we were there nothing was over $8.35.

Lunches
Meals begin with a miniature size apple muffin with a touch of honey butter. Iced tea comes in regular, Spice Friendship iced tea and Speciality Hot Tea. The regular iced tea went well with my delicious chicken salad croissant ($7.99) . It had chicken, mayo, poppy seeds and celery. Lunch came with a pile of potato chips on the side, lettuce and a crisp dill pickle.

My daughter had iced water with her meal. She chose the combination lunch items of potato soup and half a chicken salad sandwich. ($7.98) She said the soup was loaded with flavor. Her sandwich came on wheat bread instead of a croissant and liked it. This also comes with a garnish and pickle.

Desserts
We didn't have room for any of the desserts from Apple Cake Tea Room. The Brownie Pie, Cornucopia (pizelle with ice cream, sauteed bananas, chocolate and other ingredients) and the Apple Cake all sounded tempting. Next time, we'll have to try one of these.

Price
With tax, our lunches at the Apple Cake Tea Room came to just under $20. This may be our new favorite meeting spot. Boxed lunches are avaialble to go. They will even be happy to fix up a half dozen $3.99) or more bran muffins to go with the lunches.

The restaurant is open Monday – Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. They accept cash and credit cards. Rooms are available upstairs for private parties. Phone 865.966.7848 to schedule.
