Extended stay hotels in Knoxville may be the best value

Out-of-town friends are asking where to stay for the wedding in Knoxville. Extended stay hotels is always my suggestion for groups of more than five people. Extended stay hotels can often hold six or more people comfortably and can be more economical than two standard rooms. The rooms are larger so guests can feel more comfortable.

Across the brands, most rooms resemble a studio apartment. Usually the kitchen includes a full size refrigerator, stove or cooktop, microwave, coffemaker and dishwasher. Linens, a few plates and light cookware are also typical.

Room types vary among extended stay hotels. The type of room that you get depends on the brand and your requests. At some, you have to ask for or book a suite to get a room with two beds and a pull out sofa. This type of room is standard at some extended stay hotels. Rooms also usually include a living space, divided or separate living room area.

As mentioned above, prices can be comparable to a traditional hotel. A quick online check for Knoxville prices in June found extended stay hotels between $58 (west), $99 (north and east). Traditional hotels ranged from about $55 (north) to $112 (west).

Keep in mind, this was a random check for the best internet rate among different brands in Knoxville. It is accurate as of 3/26/12 and does not include tax. Costs can and will change and the prices quoted for extended stay hotels did not include discounts for AAA, AARP etc. etc. etc. (You know the drill.)
