Rossini Festival back in 2012 with new twist

The Knoxville Opera Rossini Festival and International Street Fair comes to Knoxville this Saturday. For the past decade, attendees came in droves to what was then an Italian street fair. Festival colors were the brilliant shades of green, white and red that instantly put attendees in the mood to have a good time.

The event, now in its 11th year has now become the Knoxville Opera Rossini Festival and International Street Fair. It's a departure from the Italian themed event tradition and expands the vendor selections. In addition to the Italian offerings, the vendors will include American, Asian, French, German and Hispanic foods and beverages. A partnership with Chez Liberty and Constellation Brands brings the Wine Experience to the Krutch Park extension.

In 2011, over 100,000 people attended the Rossini Festival. The fun takes place downtown in the Market Square area and along Gay Street. Over 800 entertainers are featured and booths and includes artisans from throughout the Southeast. Kids can enjoy activities designed just for them at the KidsZone on Market Square Mall.
