Our big anniversary is coming up next year and I have been comparing cruises packages and destinations. Today, I found a cruise to the Galapagos that sounds absolutely
phenomenal. The problem is that there is no way that Hubby is going to go. No matter how good the Galapagos package may be, he will not want to travel that far from home. However, for those who want to travel off of the beaten path, this is an opportunity to almost blaze
your own trail.
This
is a remote and unusual part of the world to visit. Galapagos Cruises do not offer the typical cruise experience. The Galapagos
National Park has strict requirements in place to protect the
wildlife and the environment. The number of people who can be on a
site at any one time is limited. Travelers to the islands must be
accompanied by a certified guide.

Darwin was here for five weeks over 100 years ago and new species of
lichens are still being discovered. Part of the reason that a
Galapagos Cruise sounds
so amazing is the wildlife. Can you imagine being able to stand only
yards away from fur sea lions? I can't quite get my mind around how
large a 600 pound tortoise must be.
Getting
to a Galapagos
Cruise Ship from the US requires a flight to Ecuador. Visitors
will land in either Quito or Guayaquil and be met by a
representative. (The representative will guide tourists through the
process to enter the islands.) Then, you are ready for your flight to
the islands. It sounds like the experience really begins at that
point and it sounds amazing. If I can only talk Hubby into going...
