Silver Spoon in Knoxville, Tennessee

Unfortunately, the economy hit the Silver Spoon American Cafe chain pretty hard and this restaurant is now closed as of 2012. The only Tennessee location that they have left is a Silver Spoon Express at Maryville College. I'm hearing that the chain is recovering and plans are in place to open more restaurants. I hope that's so and will be checking the locations listed on the website regularly.

The following is from my visit and was posted on 9/7/09
I went out with friends to the Silver Spoon American Cafe in Knoxville, Tennessee. We wanted good food, good service and an atmosphere where we could sit down and talk. Our friend chose the Silver Spoon American Cafe. It was a great choice for this visit.

On the visit to the Silver Spoon American Cafe in Knoxville, my dish was the chicken pot pie. The light flaky crust covered the top of the whole bowl. Inside were chunks of chicken, broccoli and carrots floating in a tasty wine sauce. It was out of this world. A promotion at the Silver Spoon American Cafe had this entree paired with an appetizer (we chosee and split the gigantic spincah dip) . It also came with dessert. My choice there was the peanut butter pie.

Hubby likes his burgers. This time out was no exception. He selected the burgundy burger and was very pleased. According to him this entree had a great flavor and came with a side of french fries - his favorite.

The service was good. I also liked that the noise level at the Silver Spoon isn't obnoxiously loud. Conversation was able to flow well despite the distractions of music and television sets. We had a great night out. The price didn't break the budget.
