La Palma De Oro Knoxville Mexican Restaurant Review

The Palma De Oro Mexican restaurant is in Powell but most people still call it Knoxville. Look for it at the corner of Callahan Rd. and Clinton Hwy. It's on the front of the shopping center by the Baskin-Robbins before you get to Marshall's or Home Depot.

My family enjoyed the fast friendly service at La Palma De Oro Mexican restaurant. When the server welcomes you to the table he appears with a bowl of salsa, chips plus a smaller bowl of bean and cheese dip. Then he asks for your drink order. It's a nice touch when most Mexican restaurants in Knoxville only bring you salsa and chips.

We have eaten there several times. The service has always been top notch. English is not a problem. The servers speak it fluently with a medium accent. La Palma De Oro has a casual relaxed atmosphere. There is a bar, booths are on the other side of the restaurant and tables are in the middle. Dress is business casual to casual.

By far, my favorite meal is the fajitas. These come in your choice of either beef or chicken. A guacamole salad, beans, sour cream, pico and 2 flour tortillas come with it. I always ask for an extra pack of tortillas. So far, we've never had to pay an upcharge for them. The favorite meal of my oldest daughter is  the enchiladas with rice. My younger daughter enjoys the taco salad. Both of these entrees looked and smelled good. The girls ate their meals without hesitation.

The cost for the 4 of us to eat lunch at La Palma De Oro was $33 plus tip. This included entrees and drinks. When my husband and I both ate fajitas for lunch the bill was about $16 plus tip.

I feel that the La Palma De Oro provides a good value for the money, excellent service and friendly staff. The next time we dine out we will certainly remember this Mexican restaurant in Powell.

  1. I have eaten here three times, and found great value. When you order enchiladas, the chicken is chunk meat, and not just shredded. All items were well prepared.

  2. we have eaten here 3 times so far it's quickly became our new favorite Mexican resturant. we love the extra "free" bowl of bean and cheese dip that comes with the salsa and chips, no need to order extra queso. we have eaten quesidilla roja both beef and chicken and its very tasty..fajitas are wonderful also...price is spot on. service the best we've had anywhere...wait staff is nice and friendly and takes good care of you. they are happy you are there...try it, you will be glad you did.

  3. My family has eaten there many many times, and has never been bad. I always get either the chicken fajita or chicken chimi. We love it. Matter of fact we are going to go tonight :). My son LOVES their food, he's 3 and asks for chips and salsa all the time. Their staff is ALWAYS friendly and speak very good English. I Highly recommend going to give it a try.
