Knoxville Rossini Festival Happens April 24, 2010

If you're tired of snow it's time to think ahead. Knoxville's Italian Street Fair happens April 24, 2010 from 12:00  Noon to 9pm. The Rossini Festival is a fundraiser and education outreach for the Knoxville Opera Company. Operas will be taking place April 23-25. Tickets are available through the website link above.

In 2009, an estimated 50,000 people converged in downtown Knoxville to enjoy one of the best Italian street fairs in the southern United States. It's a family friendly event that also includes free admission and several free activities. Check out the Knoxville Opera Company website for more details.

Italian festivals and street fairs happen all over the country. They are a time of celebration and fun. The National Italian American Foundation maintains an online list of many fairs and festivals.

If you miss the Knoxville Rossini Festival don't worry. The Memphis Italian Festival is right around the corner on June 3-5, 2010 in Marquette Park. Directions are online.

Two other articles about Italian Food are Savelli's Italian Restaurant and Rita's Water Ice. Either of these will help get you ready for the festival. We'll be posting reviews of other Italian restaurants in the coming weeks. Keep checking back.
