Review of Sloppy Joes in Daytona Beach, Florida

Sloppy Joes in Daytona Beach, Florida proved to be a fun place to eat. My family dined there in June 2010 after our Walt Disney World Vacation. From the safety of the balcony we were able to watch a storm blow in and blow out as quickly as it arrived. We were glad to be inside the restaurant for that experience. Our food was good. The service was good and the view of the beach was great.

It's exactly what we wanted after visiting the shops and band shell.

Among other dishes, Cuban food is featured at Sloppy Joes in Daytona Beach. Be sure to order sides of beans and rice with your meal. You won't regret it. They also have a gift shop and bar.

Our party of 3 ordered iced teas and water. My daughter ordered the Cayo Hueso Chicken Wrap ($8.59). Hubby got the Big Sloppy ($8.99) and I got the Turkey Club ($7.99)

The service didn't blow us away but it wasn't bad either. Our sodas were refilled promptly and the dirty plates were taken away just as reliably.

All of us were pleased with our entrees at the Sloppy Joe's in Daytona Beach. We were able to sit, relax and catch up with each other. A lot of touristy restaurants are too busy to let you do that. It's safe to day we'll be back the next time we're in town!

  1. Our experience was so so.

We had a group of 11 at a table, it took 55 minutes from ordering to receiving our food. Then 15 minutes from the time they gave us the bill until the time they came to pick up our payment. To make things ok, the manager said they would give us a free dessert. It was hard to believe that they then put an ice cream dessert down on the table with 11 spoons in it. Hard to believe that one!

One of our party thought they would try Sloppy Joes try again later. They went back several days later and basically had the same experience.

The food was ok, but nothing that I would write home about. Acceptable, but not out of the ordinary.
