I'm happy to blog that we had a good stay at the Sleep Inn of Kingsport. The staff was friendly and we were checked in pretty quickly. The beds were comfortable and the all important wi-fi worked well in our room.
This location is right off of I-81 exit 61. It is across from Hamrick's Clothing and the Cracker Barrel. It's easy to get to from the interstate but the sign can be hard to spot. Once you get there once you'll have no time finding it again.
There are some little touches at the Sleep Inn of Kingsport that help set it apart. One of those is the friendly staff. They were able to answer our questions about the area and volunteered information. Another touch is the free Otis Spunkmeyer cookies that are in the lobby in the evenings. Fruit is out in the breakfast room and is accessible in the evenings.
The continental breakfast isn't bad. They have mini-bagels and muffins. Toast, juice, coffee, cereals, hot cereals and waffles plus the fruit. My hot tea drinking daughter was very happy with their assortment. The Sleep Inn of Kingsport uses Tazo. Available types included green, passion, Awake and Chai. I was surprised to see this great brand and wide variety.
All of this was nice but it doesn't compare with the good night of sleep. We were in the middle of the first floor hallway. The elevator was in the lobby so the sound was far enough away that we didn't notice it. It was the same thing with the ice machine.
The only thing that I didn't like was the internet in the lobby. Their computer cuts you off after 5 minutes. By the time I signed on to my email the browser closed. Staff at the desk said that they were working to fix that.
Other than the internet everything at the Sleep Inn of Kingsport was great. Price for rooms at the AAA rate is about $80. We used our Choice Privileges points so the night was free. I have stayed here in the past and had a good experience. That article can be found on the Yahoo Contributor Network.
