Happy July 4th Weekend

Oh what a beautiful day. The sun is shining. Birds are singing. It's the perfect day to celebrate the 4th of July. You don't have to look far to find something fun to do. There are all kinds of activities to keep you busy. Most of these lead up to the main event - fireworks shows!

Grab the kids, sunscreen and and enjoy one of these July 4th celebrations for 2011.

City of Knoxville  Festival on the 4th
This annual festival takes place at the World's Fair Park. Fun begins at 2:00 pm. Fireworks begin at 10:00 pm. Coolers, pets, alcohol and tents are not allowed. Click the link above to learn more.

Oak Ridge - The Community Band performs at 7:30 in Bissell Park. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 10:00 pm. In past years the fireworks were detonated from Melton Hill Lake. These have been moved. The best view is now from the east end of the park A.K. Bissell Park.

Athens - Comcast Fireworks will begin at 9:30 at Athens Regional Park. Rubber Duck Race is at 8: 00 pm.

Etowah - Old Fashion 4th of July Celebration. L&N Depot in downtown. The celebration begins at 7:30 a.m. and lasts all day. It has one of the largest fireworks celebrations in the region. The big band plays until 11:00 pm.

Chattanooga - There are several fireworks shows and July 4th celebrations in the area. Check WRCB and other news stations for details.
