Oak Ridge fireworks display July 4, 2011 in Tennessee

July 4 is synonomus with fireworks. The City of Oak Ridge and sponsors did not disappoint. In 2011, for the first time, the fireworks were detonated from the A.K. Bissell Park. It was a spectacular. The show began about an hour after the excellent performance by the Oak Ridge Community Band (click here for photos).

The time in-between the shows gave folks just enough time to walk around and connect with friends or to develop new ones. A sales table was set up by the band where kids could buy glow necklaces and other items. Food vendors were on site.

The crowd was in a mannerly mood for fun. ORPD and ORFD were on site to take care of anything unforseen that might arise. Fortunately, they didn't have much to keep them occupied. Traffic after the evening was expertly directed by the officers. It all made for a magical evening that the City of Oak Ridge should be proud of.

Here is a short clip from the Oak Ridge, TN fireworks show and few photos.
