Our lunch at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant

Yesterday, Hubby and I had the opportunity to take our daughters (and the fiance') to one of our favorite restaurants in Sevierville. The Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant has been serving up home cooked food for over a decade. It's right next to the Apple Barn Gift Shop at 220 Apple Valley Rd, Sevierville. We always have to peek at what's new in the shop and never come away empty handed.

Another thing to really like about the place is the huge parking lot. You may not always get that coveted spot by the front door but you will get a space. Large 15 passenger vans with trailers have no problems maneuvering and there are plenty of other parking spaces where that came from.

The food at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant is Southern country cooking. The meals start out with a juice glass of Applewood Julep, apple fritters and a side dish of the best apple butter that you'll ever taste. After this arrives it is time to order lunch.

One of our favorite meals is the fried chicken. The lunch portion comes with two chicken breasts, a wing and two side items. Plus, there is one more thing that I forgot to mention. Lunch also comes with a cup of soup.

The Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant charges about $4 to share a meal. The charge covers side items and refill, julep, soup, apple butter and fritters. The only real item that is shared is the meat. This has to be one of the best deals in the Smokies. Lunch for Hubby and myself came to around $20.00.

Large parties need to know that gratuity is added if there are more than eight people in the group. Reservations are only accepted for parties with more than 20 people. They do not accept call ahead seating. Most people don't mind. The restaurant is casual and interesting. A wide welcoming front porch helps everyone feel right at home.

There are couple of ways to save a few bucks at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant. One of the things you can do is bring in a church bulletin.
