Walking Tour of Elizabethton, TN

This fun house is one of the sights seen on the walking tour of Elizabethton, TN. The tour is self-guided and takes about an hour and a half. There are more than 30 points of interest. It is possible for the tour to take longer. Since it is self-guided the amount of time that you spend on the walking tour of Elizabethton is completely up to you.

Finding your way is easy once you pick up a free brochure from the Elizabethton /Carter County Tourism Association. The address is 500 Veterans Memorial Parkway (19E).

The association is in the same building as the Elizabethton Chamber of Commerce. The gift shop in the building sells locally created merchandise. Fine craftsmanship was evident in every item that I looked at.

It's important to know that almost all of the homes are privately owned. Some owners (like this one) are happy to let you photograph their home. Visitors should make it a point to respect any and all privacy requests.

Homes are not the only things you'll find on this walk tour. There are a number of antique shops, stores, eateries and the Soldiers Monument to explore. Finding a lunch spot is no problem and neither is parking. We found plenty of street parking near the Doe River Bridge and park.

Families and individuals may enjoy themselves. Couples can enjoy strolling along the square and walking hand-in-hand. The walking tour of Elizabethton is just a fun way to spend an afternoon.
