Walt Disney World nearby hotels

So far, I have preferred staying on Walt Disney World property during my vacations. My daughter was with a group that stayed off property a few years ago. They all got along fine with staying at the hotels. Not everyone wants to on the grounds and are asking me about Walt Disney World nearby hotels.

At Boma in the Animal Kingdom Lodge at WDW

Visitors who want all the convenience of shopping and transportation may want to look into a Walt Disney World Hotel near Downtown Disney. The hotels include the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort, Royal Plaza, Holiday Inn, Hilton, Doubletree Suites, Buena Vista Palace Hotel and Spa as well as the Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel. 

I checked the rates online for a couple of hotels. Dates checked were for the first week of June 2012. Prices can and do change without notice. The following are the non-discounted hotel rates so the actual price could be different. Always make advance reservations for any hotel so you know what you are paying.

Here is the comparison for a standard room with two adults.

A standard room at the Holiday Inn was going for a rack rate $119.
The Double Tree by Hilton is an all suites hotel. Their price for a queen bed, two room suite is $239.
Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel is $87.99.

Each of these hotels have access to transportation from Downtown Disney and all of the ones I checked offered transportation.

The website for Downtown Disney Hotels says that guests are given a coupon book at check-in for money saving deals. The contents can change without notice. At the time of this writing there were deals for Ghirardelli, Lego, Planet Hollywood, Character in Flight and many, many more.

These Walt Disney World nearby hotels sound tempting. Prices seem to fit almost every budget. Transportation and amenities sound similar to what I enjoyed at the on-property.
