Oak Ridge Community Band concert |
- Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens
- Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky
- Farandole by Bizet
- Harry Potter Suite by John Williams
A special performance by the Secret City Winds Quintet will feature an arrangement by Alex Wilson, Personnel Manager for the Oak Ridge Community Orchestra.
March to the Scaffold by Hector Berlioz was specifically arranged for the Secret City Winds Quintet in 2012. It traces the tragedy of a musician suffering from unrequited love. The quintet will also take the stage at the free Halloween concert to perform Polka from “The Golden Age” by Shostakovich.
Making their efforts all the more impressive is that the Oak Ridge Community Orchestra is
an all volunteer 501c3 nonprofit. As such, it relies on public support through donations and the generosity of musicians who freely share their passion. Those wishing to make a donation may do so at the door or by mail. Donated funds help make programs like the free Halloween concert available to the public. Find out more about the organization at
www.OakRidgeCommunityOrchestra.com.
Musicians of all ages are invited to become a part of the orchestra. A minimum of four years is required. Email Alex Wilson at orcopersonnelmanager@gmail.com for rehearsal venues and schedule.
The free Halloween concert should be fun. I hope to be there to support the orchestra. If you see me, be sure to say hello!
