Think outside the box
A discount retail store may be your best option. Wal-Mart and Target have lots of items that would make good gifts. Jewelry and candy may be picked over. Watches, a nice jewelry box or cabinet might be alternative ideas.
Other possibilities could be a memory card for the camera,
camcorder, a digital picture frame or a printed photo of the grandkids in a nice frame.
Gift cards
Almost every store sells gift cards these days. Check the grocery store, retail stores, convenience center or gas stations.
E-gift cards
Starbucks, Applebees, Amazon and other businesses offer e-gift cards. These can be emailed to Mom. Another idea would be to buy the e-card, print the certificate and put it in a card or gift bag. She'll know that it was a last minute Mother's Day gift but she will still probably appreciate it.
A word about restaurants
Just a friendly reminder... Restaturants are usually packed on Mother's Day. Reservations and call ahead seating may be your Mother's Day. If you're dining out, don't forget to phone ahead to reserve a table. It can dramatically cut down on your wait time. That's always something that Mom is sure to appreciate.
