Pellissippi State Balloon Festival is a "GO" Despite Weather Concerns

Despite weather, the Pellissippi State Balloon Festival is ON! This is the latest news according to WBIR. That's great news for all of us who want to attend today. There will be lots to see and do. I can't wait to get there.

Bad weather is bad news for balloons. WBIR reports that the balloons could be grounded. Read their story here.

You may be asking yourself what there is to do at the Pellissippi State Balloon Festival if the weather doesn't cooperate. The short answer is "Lots!"

Here's the link to an earlier article I wrote about this terrific festival. If this isn't enough to get you excited mosey on over to their impressive schedule of events. You can see that fun starts at 2:00 pm when the Ultimate Canines perform. This show promises boatloads of enjoyment for the entire family.

If Ultimate Canines aren't your thing you're still in good shape. Travel down a musical "memory lane" at the Pellissipi State Balloon Festival 2009 with J. Luke Cochran. The music begins at 3:45 pm. Visit his website to hear a sampling of what's in store.

Of course, there is always the possiblity that the weather will change and the balloons will be able to fly. If that happens, liftoff is at 7:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2009. For more information on the weather policy of the Pellissippi State Balloon Festival in Knoxville click here.

Unfortunately, we received word in July 2011 that this event has been permanently discontinued.  Please see this article to for more.
