A Savory Experience at the Sagebrush Steakhouse Oak Ridge, TN

I was saddened to find out that this restaurant is now closed. A few other chain restaurants in the area include the Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday, iHop and Panera Bread. Find out more on Yahoo Travel.

After a frantically busy weekend Hubby and I decided we needed a break. The two of us took off to the Sagebrush Steakhouse in Oak Ridge, TN. It has been years since we last dined at a Sagebrush. We moved and none were convenient to our new home. We were glad to hear about the location in Oak Ridge and decided to give it a try.

It's across the street from the shopping center with Kroger and Autozone close to the Red Lobster and Wal-Mart shopping center. Since it's near a traffic light getting into the restaurant was easy. Check out the map link for specific directions.

The Sagebrush Steakhouse in Oak Ridge is along the lines of the Texas  Roadhouse. You get peanuts and bread with each meal. These are brought out in a little bucket. A second bucket is brought out for the shells. Of course steaks are on the menu! You'll also find chicken, burgers and salads. Entree prices begin at around $9.99 and seem to run to about $20.99 or a little higher.

When we walked into the Sagebrush Steakhouse Steakhouse in Oak Ridge we were greeted by a friendly server. A minute after we were seated the server came by to take our drink orders and answer questions. She was as knowledgeable as she was friendly. Shortly we were munching on roasted salty peanuts and bread. The cheese stick appetizer was out a few minutes later. These were perfectly cooked and had a crispy outside coating with soft insides.

Both of us ordered the flat iron steaks that were on special for $9.99. These came with roasted garlic Parmesan cheese potatoes and your choice of another side item. I selected the collard greens. Hubby chose the beans. My juicy steak was a perfect medium well. The insides were warm and pink. The grilled outside wasn't overdone. I thought that the collard greens were on the spicy side. These had a good flavor but the red peppers wanted to bite back.

Dee was our server. She removed the empty plates and kept the refills coming. With the salty peanuts and stinging collard greens I appreciated that and am looking forward to returning.

Our total bill was $36.00 and change for tax, 2 flat iron steaks, 1 cheese stick appetizer and 2 iced teas.
