One of my favorite festivals is this weekend. Knoxville Greekfest 2010 is a festival of Greek music, food, dancing and culture. The festival began in 1978 as a way to raise funds and share a Greek cultural experience with Knoxville. The rest, as they say, is history.
Knoxville Greekfest activities revolve around St. George Greek Orthodox Church. For a year or two the festival moved to the World's Fair park. The church members decided to move it back to the church so it could once again be the focus. Regularly scheduled tours are a part of each day of the festival. These are always worth your time.
If you are going to Greekfest in Knoxville be sure to bring your walking shoes, camera and extra batteries. You won't want to miss a thing.
