Where to find a Universal Studios package

Even though I've been to Orlando, FL several times there are still some areas that I've missed. So now I'm scouring the internet looking for a Universal Studios package that we might enjoy during the fall. We want to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and see what else a Universal Studios package has to offer.

Making the selection is quite a job. Here are the options that I have looked at so far.

Ducks in Florida
Staying on the property
The three hotels that are on site include Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Hard Rock Hotel®. Each one carries a AAA four diamond rating and offer perks like unlimited ride access and early admission.

A Universal Studios package may include early park admission to the Islands of Adventure or an extra night (or day) for free. Some of the options allow you to customize your Universal Studios package which gives you a world of options.

Staying near the property
Deals at nearby hotels can include a fourth night and day for free at a partner hotel with a Universal Studios package. These partner properties include the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando and the Hilton Garden Inn. Both offer pools, free WI-FI and are within walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops.

A Universal Studios package can also be purchased through other hotels, travel agents and via third party vendors. These include:

AAA
Is there any type of vacation that cannot be secured through AAA? The travel agents can guide you through the myriad of options and help you create the Universal Studios package that fits your needs. My local office may very well be where I wind up purchasing our vacation.

Online sites
Many of these sites essentially offer a rehashing of packages that are available directly from Universal. The prices seemed to be about the same.

When it comes to packages, Destinations in Florida offers several different options. There seems to be a Universal Studios package for almost every need. One that caught my eye involves a 1-2 day admission, staying at a Walt Disney World hotel and taking shuttle transportation from Mears to and from Universal Studios.

This seems to be a good way to make ours a dual-vacation to see both sets of theme parks after buying tickets on the Universal Studios package and a Disney package. I'm leaning toward this type of package because it seems to offer the best of both worlds (pun intended).
