We have 5 inches of snow in McMinn County, Tennessee

I just came in from taking snow measurements. We have five inches of snow in McMinn County, Tennessee. The secondary road that we live on is dicey. Unless you have a vehicle with high ground clearance travel may be difficult in spots.

Our electricity is out. Volunteer Electric Cooperative said that 13,000 homes were without electricity a couple of hours ago. This is a rural area. It's disconcerting that so many homes have been effected. They said the crews are working hard but did not give time estimates. Hopefully, they'll get everyone's electricity back on soon.

It will help that the weather is warming up tomorrow. The WATE weather forecast is predicting a low of 27 degrees tonight and a relatively balmy 43 degrees tomorrow. Sunshine should help warm up the roads. I'm hoping for that anyway.

Here are a couple of photos that I took. You can see what we're looking at this afternoon. For those who can get out, have a happy Valentine's Day tomorrow. We'll be spending it indoors. How about you?
